Last
night at the newly renovated Cyberzone at SM Southmall when Novo 7 Tech had a
launch of the 1st true octa-core Android smartphone that landed in
the Philippines, the THL T100 Monkey King 2

The
guys at Novo 7 Tech only had the prototype unit that time but it was loaded
with demos as us and the rest of the audience were delighted. The detailed
specs of the said unit are in the pic below:
They
had demos of the key features like on how the 8 cores can work simultaneously
or even as low as 1 core using CPU Tweaks app. They also had a live Quadrant
benchmark which landed at over 15k. 2 of the features that really gave us an
interest were the voice recognition in both the front and back cams. Coz it was
a still a prototype, they said a Mandarin word and the device instantly took
the shot. Don’t worry coz when the international version will be released this
3rd week of January 2014, it will recognize English word/s (I wonder
if the voice command for English will be “smile). There is also a smile
recognition in cams. We asked if the voice recognition can support lower
resolution on both cams and it will also work. No need for data connection for
this feature.
Good
news is it is dual 3g standby so you don’t need to switch sim slots if you want
your favourite telco to utilize its 3g capabilities. With a 2 ampere charger, Monkey
King 2 promises to fully charge the phone at only 1 ½ hours. Unlike the 1st Monkey King, this one can open its back cover
The
unit also has 2 partitions for internal storage. One is 6 GB while the other
one is 22 GB.
In
the leaflet that they gave to us, they also have a teaser of another nice true
octa core THL Android Smartphone named as T200 Cyborg, You can see the pic
below for the detailed specs but it was no show at the soft launch. They will
give more details on the Novo 7 Tech’s Facebook page soon.
The
price of T100 Monkey King 2 is only P16,000 but for those people who were there
at the launch last night with the leaflet can reserve a unit now at any Novo 7
Tech shops. The first 100 all over the
Philippines will get the Monkey King 2 for only P12,999. They also allowed
people to have a downpayment of P1,000 to secure a unit.

for this great Android device from THL. This might be our new smartphone this
2014.
