Chinese New Year 2012 celebration at SM Southmall

Last January 23, I had my first blogging event of the year when the people of SM Southmall invited me to be in their 2012 Chinese New Year celebration. Nice to know that I'm the 1st blogger to confirm to attend at the said event.

It was held at the right side parking area of the said mail. Expect to have the lion and dragon dancers as they surrounded the whole area. What is unique (as I experienced it last June 2011 at Tagaytay) as the participants had their paper lanterns to be lightened so it will be up in the sky. As for safety measures, it was supervised by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

First Sunday at the First Krispy Kreme branch in the South - Festival Mall Alabang

Sad that I didn't have a chance to be in the launch of the first Krispy Kreme branch in the south metro, in the 2nd level of Festival Supermall Alabang last September 2, 2011. Some bloggers said that it was "by invitation" event (as I addressed this to the top people at the said branch but they said that it is open to all). As a good retaliation, I went there for the 1st Sunday of the store.

I arrived there at around meryenda time. Hot coffee is not option for me as I chose the large Chocolate Chocolate and 2 donuts: New York Cheesecake and the regular glazed doughnut. Given that it is a Family day, it almost a struggle for me to have a seat. Even the long table inside the store (there are a lot of tables and chairs outside) was also occupied. It took almost 2 minutes to get a nice rest and savor the goodness of what Krispy Kreme delivers.

Good and bad things at my presence at Blogger Fiesta 2011at SM North EDSA

August 20, 2011: After on my usual things, I rushed to SM North EDSA to be at Blogger Fiesta 2011 headed by blogger Azrael Coladilla. I arrived there at around 4pm.

To end up my blog with good things, let's start off with the bad ones. They had a live video set-up which they had live video stream of the bloggers while tweeting live for the event just to use the hashtag #bloggerfiesta or tag tweet @popazrael. It's already a simple joy for me to see my tweets as it is a good opportunity to plug my blog but until the last minutes of the show, I did not saw any tweets from me. I used an SMS-based tweet right there, apart for those bloggers who are tweeting either thru their tablets or smartphones. I had to go to the center part of the venue, grabbed the mic with courtesy and asked Mr. Azrael about that matter. As he said, not all tweets can be published so I had to pin point my tweets thru the event. Sadly, I didn't have a chance to share a better app than the one they used at the event. (Hopefully next time), my tweets will show up together with those tweets that came in from tablets and smartphones.

Good vibes naman, the first speaker that I saw was Mr. David D'Angelo, a blogger and also a cosplayer as he cosplayed Stone Cold Steve Austin complete with that entrance audio in the background as he discussed on Blog Personalities

Next is Mr. Carlo Ople as he brought in a topic on how to use social media in blogging. Also in the line-up are Ms. Jenny Manongdo, Ms. Sheena Catalan of Norton, Ms. Tasha of Multiply.com, the familiar Mr. Marlon Guzman of Solidhosting.ph (as he discussed on how to protect your blog from hacking) & Mr. Marnell delos Reyes (on Common Blog Issues)

Red Horse Beer Muziklaban 2011-2012 Press Launch (wacth performances here!)

It was first time to join in an online-based press launch (actually it was the first) for Red Horse Beer Muziklaban 2011-2012 Press Launch which me and my fellow bloggers watched online. Before the event, we already received a box of 24 cans of Red Horse Beer, a CD featuring the band and artist endorsers, the press kit, other RHB kits and a tshirt from the band Mayonnaise

The online event started at around 8pm hosted by Francis Reyes and Sanya Smith. Shot at Hard Rock Cafe in Makati for me as rakista, I had a blast watching great bands like Slapshock, Gayuma, Light of Luna, Even, Mayonnaise, Hatankaru, Pepe Smith and the last band that time to perform was Wilabaliw

The set-up has 2 cameras, one at the stage area and another one which bloggers can interact with some of the band members thru Twitter. Personally, thumbs to Reg Rubio of Greyhoundz as I asked him on any updates on their upcoming album.

Check out www.redhorsebeer.com and like Red Horse Beer Muziklaban on Facebook for the event updates

As a treat, RHB just uploaded a set of performances during the launch with performances by Slapshock, Mayonnaise, Light of Luna,  Even, Gayuma, Hatankaru, Pepe Smith and Wilabaliw. Watch it.
